Step 1: Training

Step 1: Training

Once a candidate has been screened for qualification, they are brought to the training facility in Woodward, Oklahoma. Here veterans will be trained in all phases of running and managing their farm over an 8 week period on a working farm. They will train in three successive phases.

  1. System Startup. During this phase our veteran farmers will learn how start the system.
  2. Daily management of a system from startup to mid way to first harvest including water quality, nutrient management and testing.
  3. Harvesting & replenishment. How to harvest, package the produce and fish for shipment and replenish the system for continuous harvest.
  4. Business Management skills.
  5. Computer training

The veterans will live on site for the duration of the training program and may bring their families to stay and work with them as they learn. Upon completion of the training program each trainee will be certified in organic food production.
